A retail design project in a grade 2 listed building in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard. The location already has exposed limestone bricks and other natural elements, therefore it was deemed vital to highlight what’s already there in my design. I thought a natural scheme with natural materials and colours would be appropriate with that in mind. I then looked at brands that would fit the site and the style and decided that Lounge (an online underwear company) and Glossier (skincare and natural make-up brand) were the best options. I also considered the implications of COVID on retailers and how we might build an experience that would attract customers to shop in-store rather than online.
